Q: im need a van insurance quote but dont remember my convictions on paper license?
A: You don't need to remember it because once you provide some key identifying information, they will run a report with a national data vendor, most likely one called ChoicePoint which compiles every American's driving record.
You actually can contact ChoicePoint to ask to inspect your own record to check for accuracy.
Q: Courier Van Insurance?
I am looking for cheaper Courier Van Insurance. My current quote is £900 and was wondering if anyone knows of a good company for this?
A: I got a £50 monthly on a pay as you go here http://4ym8.com/del/ukmotoring-insurance-quotes.php
but you might not have the same van/age/bonus etc so I dunno. It's free to enquire.
Q: How much would a year's insurance cost for a small van?
This is for an imaginary business plan and I don't even drive. I want to give as an acurate figure as I can without having to sign up to anything on-line to get a quote.
Van would be for a small business. Off road but not garage parking. Area without significant crime rate. Van would probably be 6 years old or more. Female driver early twenties.
Based South Coast of England so anwers in £s please

Q: How much cheaper would it be to go under my dads insurance for a van, if it was £2000 on my own policy? (Year)?
My INSURANCE quote is around £2000 Annual for my Ford Transit Van. Im 17 years of age and would really like this to be a tad cheaper for the first year until I get my little own run Business going a bit more. Is there anybody who can give me an estimate on how much Im looking at if I went under my fathers Insurance?
Cheers Guys!
Jack Osborne.
All Answers Appreciated.
(Added - I am not able to get a quote from my dads insurance people so we are changing it over. Please do NOT give me nasty answers as these will be classed as immature)
If you haven't got anything nice to say, Don't say anything at all.
A: My lad, mind you he's only 17 and a learner, would have had to pay summat ridiculous to have his own ins, think it was like £2000, but to go on mine it would be £600.
Q: Insurance Quotes?
So i just started driving and my parents put my name under the title of our van because the insurance was cheaper. Well i would like to save up and get my own car, but they keep bringing up that the insurance would sky rocket. The van is a '03 Honda odyssey and the car i'm looking at is a '91 Toyota 4runner. If anybody could give me a ballpark estimate of how much the insurance will cost for one verses the other. I'm 16 and live in the zip code 80127. Dont know if any other info is needed. Thanks.
We actually already have a good insurance agent, i just want to know about the difference in cost for the two vehicles.
A: Your parents are prob. right. The factors against you:
new driver
no driving history
age (ie: very young)
will ramp up that insurance to the point where it will actually cost more then the value of the car after about two years.
PLUS.. your parents will STILL have to have some kind of coverage on you since until you are an adult or emancipated, they are legally responsible for your actions.
Stick with their insurance and save the money for a GREAT car in about 5 years.

Q: Their insurance said our quotes don't matter?
My husband and I live in Ohio. We were in a car accident this week, where a van backed into my car (which was not moving). The guy was very nice, and his insurance company called me later that day. When the insurance company called me again a few days later, I told her I wanted to use my own garage (in actuality, we want to fix the car at home) and that we are getting quotes. She told me my quotes don't matter, that they don't even want them, and that the insurance company will GIVE me my quote. Then she had the gall to ask if I thought she was going to lie to me. (haha). Can they DO this? Can they refuse to even use my quotes? I know that I can hire a lawyer to sue her client, but I want to be sure that the check comes to ME in MY name. The car is in my name, it isn't leased. A friend of mine works in insurance, and told me to tell their insurance company anymore that my lawyer advised me not to speak to them again. (I don't have a lawyer yet). So now what? Can they DO that??
A: both of the above answers are good... from different perspectives.
But you didn't say what YOUR insurance company is doing. ? They should be able to give you some guidance in this matter since they are YOUR advocates.
Once you find out some background consider :
1) You should be able to fix the car anywhere you want but the insurance company only has the obligation to pay a reasonable amount necessary to restore you to how you were before the accident.
2) Get three estimates for the damage. Send copies to the other person and his insurance company by registered mail. (Remember its the other driver who owes you NOT his insurance company - they act for him). In an accompanying letter give them a reasonable time to come and inspect your car before you begin repairs.
3) Take lots of 'before' photos to supplement your estimates.
4) If they come see your car and give you their estimate maybe it is good... maybe not... but if its close to the estimates then that may solve your problem.
5) If they do not repond - repair the car. Take more photos
6) Send the driver the bill. If he pays fine... if not Wapnerize him (small claims if under $5k or whatever Ohio's law allows) if it is over $5k then you will need a lawyer.
7) If they lowball your estimates, decide if you want to try to settle with them via a compromise. If not, go to step 5 after sending them a letter telling them that their quote is insufficient to restore your car.
Payment: Payment will be made to the owner of the vehicle. If there are registered and legal owners payment may be made in both names.
good luck

Q: Advice please - car insurance claim, hit by white van man, not my fault, now he's claiming I hit him?
Back in May a white van man changed lanes on the dual carriageway without looking and pulled into the drivers side front wing of my car, damage not significant - probably about £500 worth, but you can't really tell it's been hit, more scraped. The other driver was very nice, apologised profusely, said the sun caught his eyes etc, and to call him if there was a problem. I immediately reported it to my insurers, not expecting any problems. Over the past 3 months this other driver has turned quite nasty with me, after having told me to get a quote and he'd pay it, he changed his mind and told me to go through the insurance. He finally reported the accident to his insurers last week, telling them that I drove into the back of him, but that I caused no damage to his vehicle - which is why he never reported it until now. My premium is due for renewal in October. Do I continue to fight this - not wanting to let him get away with it, or let it go? Might I lose my no-claims bonus?
If this goes all the way through the legal process, and he's not found liable will this cost me money? Will I have to pay up for time spent by the insurers working on the case? I can't afford to lost my no-claims discount. I have legal protection, but no witnesses to the accident or the conversations he has had with me and my husband where he has admitted guilt and been apologetic.
A: Im sorry this has happened to you, its a horrible and stressful scenario. i'm going to presume you are insured fully comprehensive.
Firstly, im afraid it would not be as beneficial as you think to drop your case now. Because you have already informed your ins comp, if you drop the claim, you still have to inform all ins companies if you want a quote. Any further quotes from your comp or any other will show you having a " claim with no loss of NCB". This can still have an effect on your premium.
Secondly, if you do pursue this, and it is settled as a 50-50 claim (where the ins company cannot determine who is at fault), you will lose your NCB, unless it was protected. Check your ins policy forms.
Thirdly, check your docs to see if you have Legal Cover. This is usually added onto a policy almost automatically and is up to a value of £50,000 - £100,000. This will pay for all your legal costs, you will not have to pay a penny (no claim ever goes over this amount so dont worry about that either). If you dont have this included, check your home insurance policy for it, you can use this too.
You say your renewal is in October. If you choose not to fight this, your renewal will be based on you having had a claim even though you chose not to go through with it. As I said before, this is because you have already informed your ins comp about it. It will be at your ins comp's discretion if they are going to penalise you financially for it...they may do because they will be aware every company will. contrary to previous answers, If you choose to pursue this, your ins company will undertake a "worst case scenario" regarding your renewal premium. This means you will be sent a renewal stating you have an unsettled claim, they will reduce your NCB and increase your premium accordingly. The reason for this is that should the claim then be settled in your favour, your NCB and premium will be sorted and they will refund you all monies due to you (backdated to the start of your policy date). All ins comps do this because it is easier to refund money than it is to increase a premium and chase money , should it be settled as fault.

Q: insurance?
i had an accident in 2003 it wasnt my fault ,8 days later another stolen van hit my car from behind and drove off,not my fault again,if i m asking for insurance quote do i have to tell them about these accidents happend.if yes i get high insurance i checked with and without accidents, plz help thnx in advance
A: If these accidents were reported to the police or to prior insurance agencies, the new insurance agency will know about them. They might give you a low rate when you apply if you don't tell about the accidents, but they will do a complete search before they actually issue the policy. When they find the accidents, they will bill you for the higher rate. If you don't pay them, they will cancel your insurance.
Since the wrecks were not your fault, you might not be charged the higher rates. The best thing to do would be to contact several insurance agencies and have them check your history and give you an authentic rate quote.
Independent insurance agencies (instead of State Farm, Geico, American Family, etc) can go through several different insurance agencies to find the best rates for you. For us, howver, American Family had the best rates and coverages.
Q: Can anyone help me get a ball park figure on a insurance rate for a 95-99 eclipse gst?
I tried getting quotes from websites but they ask a lot of info like if i own it already. I am planning to buy a eclipse i want to upgrade from my crappy astro van. I am 22, male, live in chicago, one violation driving w/o insurance, only been licenced for a year, and the eclipse will be fully paid for. My dad will be the first driver hes 50 and i dont think he has any violations. I already pay $450 for 6 months liability i want to know if the eclipse will be more than that.
A: What's your CREDIT score? And you can't use DAD as a "first driver" if the car is in your name. And, what's your ADDRESS? That matters.
And what LIABILITY limits do you have, for which coverages? Do you want liability only?
If you want liability only, and both the old car and the new car are in your name, you shouldn't see a change with most companies.
Otherwise, you're going to have to give a ton of information. I'm sure, $1,000 to $10,000 is too much of a ball park, but that's probably going to be accurate, based on the information you gave.
Q: want to find pick up van truck insurer?
need to get insurance quote for daihatsu pickup truck

Q: Will the Insurance pay as I was late to report an accident?
My car was hit by a guy called Ray Van Kogelenberg. It was his fault but we agreed that I was going to get a quote and let him know instead of using the insurance. I got a quote of 340 pounds and he told me that he did't have that kind of money but If I was going to wait till end the month then he would send me a cheque. He is not answering his phone and I don't know if the insurance will pay because it's more than 25 days since the accident happened.
He lied to me about his name but I managed to get his name from the vehicle Reg no Y94JPA and I have his address as 21 Lodgehill Park close
Harrow HA2 0PD and the car is a renault clio Registered in UK on 03/05/2001 He calls himself Ollie Rumbord but I tracked him in facebook and happened to be Ray Van Kogelenberg I have his tel number as 07971339155 and I am not sure if contacting the insurance will be of any help.
Regards
A: Yes your insurance would pay (if you have fully comp) if you do tell them and let them sort it out, it's then their problem not yours. Though you will still have to pay the excess (which might even be higher than 340 so you'll get nothing) and you'll lose your NCB... hardly fair if it wasn't your fault.
However if you don't have fully comp.. or you want his insurance to pay... you are going to have to do some work yourself.
First if he gave you false details, you can report him to the police as it's an offence to do that. I would do this as getting a police report will help later on, especially as you don't even know if the guy HAS any insurance.
If he doesn't you'll need to get it back either from him or via the Motor Insurers Bureau. which is a government established (industry funded) legal body which exists to aid and if necessary compensate victims of negligent uninsured and untraced motorists.
They are a pretty helpful bunch and you could do worse than give them a ring anyway, they are the experts in this area. Just go to www.mib.org.uk to get their contact details.
Q: What do i do? What are the NY laws pertaining to accidents?
I hit some guys van. I left a note. he called me back. we talked i told him to get some quotes. he gets back to me and tells me its 1000. to fix a door that i just dented in. i had no problem with that cause i know a body work guy who could get me the door and do the work and even paint it for cheaper then the 1000. but he said he didnt want that done. he wanted to have it his way. so i try to get money up for it but i have no job right now and there really isnt much i can do besides go through insurance. every time i offered the guy what i can get done for him. he is unflexible cause he wants everything perfect. i was just like i cant do it. so just go through insurance. now he doesnt want to. its been months since this happened and i dont want to get in trouble for it. i was in the wrong to hit him, i have offered what i could to him. what kind of trouble can i get into? or how do i resolve this? can you still file a claim? people told me to ignore him but i dont think thats right
A: Technically, you should advice your insurance company of the situation. Only problem is, once you do that, your rates with probably go up. If they guy hasnt contacted you, I'm assuming he probably called your insurance company and filed a claim. You did all that you could do. I would just leave it alone, if he decides to have you get it fixed your way, then thats great. If he decides to call your insurance co... then they will deal with it.
The only problem I can foresee is the insurance company denying the claim becuase technically you are supposed to advice them of the accident immediately. I wouldn't worry too much about that though. If the insurance co gives you a problem, just tell them that you decided to settle it outside of insurance and then the guy just went and made a claim. I havent yet heard of a company denying a claim in a situation like this.
Q: I need a quote from the movie Along Came Polly.?
Philip Seymour Hoffman is in the boardroom at the end of the meeting and he's talking about why Leland Van Lew should get the insurance. The quote has something about alligator wrestling, luging, bungee jumping or something. Can you help??
A: He says like " Should this base jumping, crocodile wrestling, volcano luging, bear fighting, shark diving, snake wrangling bast*** die!"
Q: No car insurance/accident question....HELP!!!?
I recently was involved in a 4 car accident and I unfortunately rear-ended a van going 30 mph which pushed 2 other cars into each other. I have full coverage on one of my vehicles just and recently (2-1/2 months ago) bought another car. I thought I put full coverage on the accident car online 10 days after the car was purchased through my existing insurance company. After the accident, I tried to file the claim through the insurance company and they told me I'm not insured on that car and the effort was only a "quote" and not an addition to my policy. I totaled the car and possibly the car I hit.. What are my rights? I need any suggestions....help!! I have proof of the bill of sale date and proof of the "quote" date.
I have an existing policy and the car was supposed to be added. The payments directly out of my bank account and I have a hard plastic insurance card with my policy number on it and no vehicle indications
I have an existing policy and the car was supposed to be added. The payments directly out of my bank account and I have a hard plastic insurance card with my policy number on it and no vehicle indications
I am with USAA insurance.. and I specifically remember giving the VIN number during the online session when I purchased the car...right now I'm in Minnesota.
A: You have a limited time to add a newly purchased vehicle to your policy.
You should have called your agent to add the vehicle. Don't rely on "on line". Most companies require that vehicles be added and deleted by company staff. Did the quote have you enter the vehicle identification number? You have to give this to the company to actually add a vehicle - but it is usually not required for a quote.
The only thing you can do is talk to your agent and see if they can help you out. Since you did not actually add the car to the policy -- the company does not owe you coverage.
If your company does not allow you to backdate coverage - then you are going to have to pay for the damage to your car and the cars in front of you. Once your company denies coverage - the other drivers will be able to file under their own policies. Once their companies settle with them, they will contact you for re-payment. You can set up a re-payment plan (interest free) to pay each of the companies back.
What company are you with? Someone out here may be familiar with that companies specific procedures.
Q: Mercedes A class for an 18 year old?
Im 18 and my current car is a Jaguar X type. I am selling it as it is costing me too much to run. I wanted to get a smart roadster coupe but I cant find a decent insurance quote.
I am thinking of getting a Mercedes A160 or A170 diesel. It would be practical for me as I am a carpenter and you can turn it into a small van by folding away the back seats completely.
I know the Jag isnt a great car for a young boy as it can be seen as an od mans car, but what is the Merc A class seen as? Is it a grannys car or a mum's school run car?
Any other suggestions?
Cheers
*old mans car
Right just to clear a few things up....
I am under my dads insurance on the Jag as a named driver and it costs £2100 with tesco.
I paid £6000 for the Jag it is a 2002 model, and you can buy a Mercedes A class for less than that. I am not spoiled I work full time as I am an apprentice carpenter and I pay for my own cars. I dont throw my money away on cigarettes and alcohol like alot of other 18 year olds.
A: I think it will make you look like a spoiled little rich DB, but that's just me.
