Q: Where is a good place to get classic car insurance that will let me commute - not only use the car for shows?
Most insurance that I'm looking into for classic cars are not willing to insure your car if you commute to work and school. They only want to insure cars that are used in shows, parades, etc. I will not drive my car every single day to work...maybe a few times during the week. I bought the car to enjoy it, not let it sit in the garage!

A: I would suggest that you have your car appraised and then insure it on a stated value policy through a mainstream insurance company. Ask your insurance agent about stated value policies to see of they have them available.

Q: Temporary classic car insurance for 17 year old in the uk?
I am 17 and have passed my driving test, so hold a full UK license, i wan't to borrow my dad's classic car for a day, to take my date to the the end of year prom. Is it possible to get temporary insurance for me for just a day? without adding me to the actual car policy? It is a Triumph Spitfire 1500. Thank you for your ideas.

A: I don't think so.

Q: where ti find classic car insurance in CA?
i recently bought a 1966 plymouth valiant....it is definitely not fixed up or anything like that it is just your basic old car that is in need of some help...but it runs and drives and will be my daily driver...so i need to find insurance for it......but most insurance companies only go as old as 81 .....anyone know any classic car insurance companies for currently un-restored cars?

A: Nice car! I'm going to be telling my age but that was my first car. No joke. I know of one company in California that will insure un-restored classic cars. Last time I checked liability was very cheap. (around $25/$35 a month) Just be sure to tell the agent the vehicle is not restored. Good Luck. I listed there website below.

Q: Can anyone recommend a good Classic/Collector Car insurance company?
I'm looking for reasonable terms/conditions and rates to insure a 1967 Chevy Chevelle. Anyone have any experience or recommendations for insurance companies specializing in classic cars? Thanks!

A: Try Hagerty.com Great rates but you need to be careful about the mileage that you put on in a year. It is usually limited to 2500 and the car has to be kept in a locked garage and you have to have another personal auto policy for your other vehicle.

Q: How does a car qualify to be eligble for classic car insurance in the UK?
Are there specific companies that deal in this? Is it generally cheaper due to restrictions on the use of the car?

A: There are a number of companies which have a "classic" car insurance scheme. It varies according to the company and there is no set eligibility for insurance. These policies are generally cheaper but put restrictions on mileage etc. For vehicle tax purposes it used to be 25 years but this government changed it and now I believe only cars registered before 1973 are exempt. (not sure on the date it is 73 or 74 I think)

Q: Where can I go for the best and cheapest classic car insurance?
We have a 1965 classic mustang and want to insure it for it's restored value.

A: OK, now, make sure you know what the policy says. Most "stated amount" policies pay THE LESSER OF actual cash value, or stated value. And in order to get an AGREED VALUE clause, you need an appraisal. It's NOT how much it cost you to restore it, it's a true appraisal. Now, who's got the best? It's a tossup, between American Collectors and Haggarty Ins. They both do a GREAT classic car policy, but both require that there are no operators under 25, and that every household member has their OWN vehcile to drive, and, of course, that you keep this one in a locked garage, and put less than 2500 miles on it.

Q: Where can I find "classic car insurance" for someone who is 19?
I'm turning 19 this summer. I'm joining the Air Force and the car I'm looking to buy is a 1972 Dodge Challenger. All of the insurance companies I find only insure people who are at least 25 and very few at the age of 21. I have had my license for more than a year and no traffic or law violations.

A: Here's is two comparison places that will bring back about 15 main insurers between them and you just need to be 18: http://123automotive-insurance.solutionsarticles.com/www2insure4lesscom/ http://www.quick-car-insurance-comparison.simplyinsurancequotes.com/a I am not too sure about classic insurance but at worse it'll take 10 minutes of your time.

Q: Finding cheap classic car insurance?
I have a 1979 chevy malibu and i want to be able to have it and my winter car on the road. I want to find like a cheap classic car insurance for it so i can pay for both insurances. a friend of mine was telling me you can get it really cheap ccause its a clasic. Anyone know of any?

A: JC Taylor, Condon & Skelly or Hagarty. Remember, they will require that you have a full time regular use vehicle for every driver in your household. The primary use of the classic vehicle will need to be shows & parades. You will not be allowed to drive it to work or use it every day. They will check the mileage on every renewal. Usually they will allow about 2500 to 3000 miles per year. They will also require photos & appraisal for proof of value. The vehicle will be required to have full coverage. It is cheap insurance, but it is cheap for a reason. These companies are very strict on the use of the vehicle. I believe you will also need to have a good driving record.

Q: Reasonable classic car insurance for a 17year old?
Hi all, i've just bought a 1978 mgb gt and i'm looking to get insured on it. I have 3 points on my licence for speeding, i'm 17 years old. Can you suggest anywhere that may give me a quote below £1.5k? what would you suggest would be a reasonable quote, considering my situation? thank you in advance. edit, i'd like to point out i live in the UK so american websites don't really help. thank you for trying though.

A: Hey there, see http://simplyinsurancequotes.com/uk/eGroupmotoring-insurance-quotes.php?id=8899 They'll sell you insurance MONTH BY MONTH so if your 1978 mgb happens to break down (very unlikely I admit) you can just put it in the garage or on blocks and at least you won't waste any money on insurance (while it's getting fixed).

A: See this http://gsx1.com/InsuranceComparison.html take the quote, they'll come back with prices from different insurers in your area. It's very quick and free of charge. But to find a cheap price you should get several quotes, do some legwork till something better will come along. 1955-1959 Cadillac. I like those classics. Is there any way to improve their MPG?
