Q: When asked to give name and address for a car insurance quote?
Do they send you information? Because my parents currently pay for my car insurance but I want to get some insurance quotes before I move out of the house (which they don't know about). I also don't want junk mail...

A: that depends if the source is trustworthy.

Q: When getting a car insurance quote, do I disclose a speeding ticket, if I already took traffic school for it?
I had a speeding ticket, but the judge lowered my citation to 99mph so I could take traffic school. I am getting an insurance quote from progressive.com and they want me to provide information on tickets I've received in the last 3 years. Do I tell them about my speeding ticket, since traffic school is supposed to prevent a point from being added to my driving record? I've already finished my traffic school and I live in California.

A: Yes, or you are in breach of contract, and possibly fraudulent, though you have taken nothing, but a cut in insurance. Time limits apply, usually 3 years, but you would probably know how long based on company's application. Surprisingly, they already might have this info through an interface or link with police, though I doubt it. Info is definitely available on your claims, sometimes erroneously!

Q: Where can I get a good car insurance quote?
I have full coverage with AIG,but I its too high.Tried Geico, its about the same quote.

A: There are lots of sites where you can get an online quote. http://www.goodinternetdeals.com/Auto-Insurance.html It only takes 5 minutes to do.

Q: I got a car insurance quote from State Farm that?
is double that of the quotes I got online (from brokers). Is it better to go with State Farm or one of the cut rate insurance companies? I mean in the event of an accident and getting paid. I also rent a lot of cars and will be using the insurance I buy for those. And, not get the insurance that the rental companies over charge for.

A: I would go with State Farm. But I am biased because I work there. Ask for as many discounts as you can like, multi-car, multi-line, good driver, if your young for a new driver then ask for driver safety, and any other they offer. Ask how you can get them. And, if those cut rate companies offer low payments do they ask for a broker fee or a higher down payment? Sometimes you do get what you pay for. But remember, there is good and bad in every company but overall they are much better. And, if you rent cars a lot then ask the agent to add UNOC. Unlimited Non-Owned Car coverage. Some are not familar with it but otherwise your coverage only carries over to a rental car for 21 days at one time.

Q: Can some one please clarify the following Churchill assumption for a car insurance quote.?

For all other occupations the vehicle may be used in connection with your business or those of your spouse, partner or civil partner (not business partner). Now dose this mean I can drive to from home to the supermarket where I work and back home again and can you put it as spimply as possable please.

A: Yes.

Q: what exactly is a car insurance quote?
literally, is it a QUOTE? what is it?! i feel pretty darn stupid for asking this question. but you know, it's annoying the shiz outta me.

A: It's an estimate of what your premium MAY be based upon basic information you provide an insurance company. The quote may increase or decrease once your DMV is run, your credit if applicable in your state, and your vehicle information.

Q: Car Insurance quotes - when you get an online quote and it asks you?
how much your car is worth, do you quote the price you paid for it or its present price..?

A: Unless you agree a value of the car before you take out the insurance (this involves an insurance assessor viewing your car and agreeing the value you state-normally chavved up motors or specialist marques) then they will ask you this but only pay out BOOK price or otherwise known as replacement price. I've had good info about it here: http://autoinsurance.hotusa.org Have a nice day.

Q: Where can I get a free car insurance quote for local insurance companies in my area?

A: From the local agents in your area. Most do not charge to give you a quote.

Q: trying to get a car insurance quote?
I'm trying to get a car insurance quote online and they ask some questions i don't know what they mean like: 1-anti-brakes? (what this means) 2-defensive driver course? (what this means)

A: Why on-line?? If you don't know the answers, how can yo uanswer the questions CORRECTLY?? On-line services don't usually talk BACK nor do they explain coverages to you properly. There is no ONE insurance company that is right for everyone - everyone is rated individually - and all companies have different "likes and dis-likes", different credit tiers, different business models, and many other factors that can vary your rate - and a QUOTE is ONLY a quote until the policy is issued. Typically, insurance rates will vary from State to State and can even vary by ZIPCODE! It also will depend on the type of car/truck, coverages, limits of liability, and driving record. Some companies run credit scores and MOST run a motor vehicle report and CLUE (Comprehensive Loss Underwriting Exchange) report to see about undisclosed accident involvement. The best thing to do is call a LOCAL independent agent or broker. Don't go across town, or to some other city - look for someone CLOSE. Just look in the phone book for the PIA or Big I (Trusted Choice) logos and you will find a professional licensed agent that will be able to help you solve your insurance problems, and give you rate comparisons of several different companies. An independent insurance agent will normally have a dozen different companies and if he cannot help you, he should be networked with other local agents that can. In my agency, we have companies that do NOT run a credit score and welcome drivers with "less than perfect" driving records and specialize in youthful operators! Most of the replies on this site say "go to this on-line carrier or that on-line carrier or that 1-800 number" but I'm sure that when you do, you will find some impersonal computer user with a script to work from and you won't be able to talk with the same person every time you have a problem! Good luck, drive RESPONSIBLY and I hope this helps!
