Q: New York State Auto Insurance Collision, needed for financed car?
Does New York State's Auto-Insurance laws require financed cars to have collision on them?
A: Yes. Even if they didn't the finance company would require it. In NY, you need a $500 deductible or lower.
Q: Where can I see a list of New York State auto insurance companies with their 3 digit ID?
A: I believe you can find this information on your state's insurance site. www.insurance.ny.gov or something similar to that.
Since insurance is state governed- you should be able to get help via this site.
Hope this helps.
Q: With comprehensive auto insurance (state farm), will it cover water damage if you drive through a deep puddle?
My buddy drove through a deep puddle that was unseen, and it flooded the entire car and engine and the car was submerged pretty much. Will comprehensive insurance or just regular insurance cover it? Will insurance buy the car back? Thanks.
A: If the vehicle is flooded, then this would be covered under the comprehensive portion of the policy. If the cost to repair exceeds the value then the insurance will total out the car. They will pay the actual cash value of the vehicle minus the deductible and any prior unrelated damage.
Q: How can I renew my auto insurance in the State of Florida?
My six month policy is due to expire next month and I need full coverage for my 2004 toyota corolla. I have never had to do this before, any tips or anything I can do as far as renewing my auto insurance in the state of florida?
A: Where did any of you read anything in the question about moving to Florida? Not even implied in the question.
You will get a renewal notice and a bill shortly before your policy is due to expire, anywhere from 2 weeks to 30 days before. Just pay the bill and it's renewed. If you don't get a notice, call your agent.
Q: What effect will a speeding ticket have on my State Farm auto insurance premium in Indiana?
Would it be better to take the ticket deferral or just pay the fine? It was a minor 2 point violation for speeding 54 in a 40. The state trooper also issued a written warning for disregarding a traffic signal. This is my first ticket in over seven years and State Farm states this shouldn't raise my premium. Is this true or are they just saying this so I will pump more money into their company. Anyone familiar with this process.......Please Help?!?!
A: First of all, in Indiana they can't change your premium until your next renewal. So find out when that is and that will tell you when you might expect your first change. The only thing you can do is to pay the ticket and wait to see what actually happens.
Like I say, your premium won't change until your renewal and you will get 30 days notice before your renewal. So if it does go up you will have plenty of time to get other quotes and make a change.
If you haven't had any tix or accidents in a while then it may not increase your premium, but you just have to wait for your renewal to know for sure.
Q: If you get life, renters, and auto insurance is it cheaper than paying just auto through state farm in NYC?
My boyfriend and I opened a new account with State Farm in NYC. They said that it would be cheaper to go with the triple package of renters, life, and auto rather than just auto. Does anyone have insurance in NYC with State Farm and can anyone tell me if this is true of their situation? Auto insurance is really all we need right now but I am just surprised that it is cheaper with all three instead of just auto. Can anyone help me out with this one Please?
A: I can't speak for State Farm in NYC, but most companies do offer discounts if you have multiple policies. Usually, they give a percentage discount off of the policies.
For me, there have been a few times where the discount provided on the auto was actually more than the cost of the renter's policy! So not only is the customer getting a "free" renter's policy, they save money on the auto as well. Talk about a no brain-er.
That being said, it is rare that this actually happens, and life policies are being underwritten by a completely different set of standards so I find it hard to believe you would get a discount on the life policy for having your auto with them. But again, I'm not a State Farm agent in NYC so I don't know for sure.
Good question, star for you!

Q: Is there any real difference between Geico and State Farm auto insurance?
Will I get better protection from Geico? Or State Farm?
A: If the coverage limits are the same, then the protection SHOULD BE the same. But, there are HUGE differences between State Farm and Geico. State Farm is a well established company that offers many lines of insurance and bank products. It is also known for its fair claims service and friendly and helpful customer service. Geico, on the other hand, is known for a lizard. I have heard horror stories about claims practices. Ask a body shop their opinion - would they rather work with State Farm or Geico? Bet they say State Farm.
Q: What is the state minimum liability auto insurance in the state of Texas?
I'd like to know as I'm almost done paying for my car and to save money am going to drop to the minimum amount of liability coverage required by law and drop collision coverage.
Please help.
My car isn't really worth anything according to the blue book. That's why I'm not worried about it.
I think you might have misread the question.
I said I was dropping down to the minimum requirement on liability and going to drop collision altogether.
