Q: Auto Insurance?
I recently bought a car and I have no idea what auto insurance is good and has great deals. Can anyone help me? Keep in mind I'm on a budget. Does anyone know what is a good company for me?
A: You can try:
Freeway Insurance
Esurance
Progressive
The General
Dashers
These are all cheaper insurance brokers. In the end it will mostly depend on the coverage you need, where you live, you're driving record, etc.
Some of the better but more expensive companies are:
AllState
AAA
Farmers
State Farm
Q: Is the auto-insurance claim information shared if I switch the insurance company?
Hi!
I am with auto-insurance company X right now and due to few number of insurance claims that I had made, my insurance is going up. I am wondering if I try to switch to some company Y, will X share my claims information with Y?
Thanks!
A: Most of the time, yes they will find those prior claims.
Many insurance companies participate in a national database that tracks claims. They will also check you MVR records of any tickets or accidents. It is very difficult to slip one past an insurance company.
Fraudulently stating fewer claims than you actually have is not a good idea. If you filed another claim and the prior ones were discovered, they could deny the new claim, back charge you a higher rate, and/or cancel the policy on the spot.
Because your rate went up due to the claims, it's not a bad idea to shop around, just make sure they are rating you with knowledge of those prior claims.
Q: What auto insurance company has cheap rates for adding a 16 year old first-time driver to an insurance plan?
We live in Florida, and my son has just turned 16, He wants to get his licenses but we don't want our insurance to go up too much. From what I hear it is very expensive, yet i hear other people saying that some auto insurance company's have very cheap rates for adding a first time driver. So if there are any other parents that know of a company that they use that is pretty cheap please let me know.
Thank you.
Yes we are planing on "adding" him to our plan.
A: I recommend you locate a local car insurance agent to help. Since I live in Kentucky I can't suggest an agent in Florida, but here is an website that can help you. http://www.easyautoinsuranceguide.com/Florida-Car-Insurance.html
Good Luck!
Q: Can the auto insurance company pay me directly for my medical expenses or do they have to pay the doctor?
I was in an auto accident and I have medical insurance. My medical insurance covered my medical expenses; however, I wanted to know if the auto insurance is still liable for those expenses? It seems as if my having medical insurance should benefit me and not the liable party's auto insurance company. If I did not have medical insurance the auto insurance company would still have to pay for those expenses. So shouldn't they still have to pay for those expenses and I get what ever is left that my medical insurance company did not pay? Are there any laws statures that back this up in Georgia? I am trying to settle this claim without getting an attorney and I need all the help I can get. Any advice would be helpful. I am in the process of writing a demand letter. Thanks for all the help.
A: Your medical insurance provider will collect from the insurance company of the driver who caused your injuries. This process is called subrogation. It is standard practice throughout the US.
You are not entitled to dual benefit from your injuries. Go ahead and consult an attorney -- he or she will almost certainly tell you the same thing.
If you have a pain and suffering claim, that would be paid by the insurance company of the at-fault driver, assuming that there is any room left on his liability coverage. If he had minimum liability that's probably been exhausted already. An attorney can help with that part of your claim if need be.
Q: What are some discounts that many auto insurance companies offer that might help save some money?
10pts to best answer. Question about auto insurance policies?
I just earned my drivers liscence. My father is dreading the cost of adding another driver to the family auto insurance policy. What are some discounts that many insurance companies offer that might help save my dad some money when the premium is due?
A: Depends on the company and the state that you live in. Auto insurance is regulated by each state so it can differ from state to state.
Some companies might offer:
-Good student discount (if you have a B or better average, so 3.0 or higher)
-Driver Training discount (if you got your drivers license through an 'on the road' driver training course and got a certificate stating you completed the course
-Some companies offer a book to be completed to make you designate driving goals to make you aware of your driving skills.
If there are 3 cars in the house and 3 drivers in the house, you will probably have to be put as a primary operator of a car, BUT if threre are 2 cars in the house and 3 drivers in the house you could probably be rated as an occational operator of the vehicle.
Just offering some suggestions for you!
Hope this helps. Good luck.
Q: How does auto insurance work when you "loan" your car to another?
I have been thinking of "loaning" my car (which I own) to my 87 year old father. I would then lease a vehicle for myself. Then at the end of the lease period (let's say 3 years) if he is no longer driving, the car returns to me. Can he purchase auto insurance on himself and the car or does it fall upon me and my policy? My father has an excellent driving record and so do I.
A: Call your insurance company to see if you can add him to your policy or if he would be covered under yours. Each state is different so ask them. And GO DAD!! 87 and an excellent driving record, those 2 things don't usually go together.
Q: Can you resume your auto insurance policy one it was canceled?
Can you resume your auto insurance policy one it was canceled? ok it was canceled 5 months ago I wasn't using the car so I didn't need insurance at a moment. Now I am planning on using the car again. Can I just call them and ask them to send me a monthly fee and get insurance resumed or do I need to go to insurance place and talk to Insurance sales agent and pay $200 finders fee again? I don't want to pay those fees again. Is there a way to resume my insurance without those extra fees. I am a California resident.
A: You will have to start a new policy with a new application. You should call around and get another agent. The $200 finders fee is excessive. Our agency used to charge a fee of $20 for new assigned risk policies ONLY because of the large amount of paperwork, low commission and high cancellation rate. We would never charge that on any other policy. Pick up the phone book & call other agents. Call someone that has a list of companies they represent under their name. When you call ask if they charge a finders fee. If they do, call someone else. I was under the impression that "finders" fees are limited. Call the CA Dept of Insurance to find out if they are limited in CA.
You won't be able to avoid a new application but you certainly should be able to avoid a finders fee. Sounds like maybe you had a broker that doesn't represent any companies. Agents get paid on commission from the companies they have an agency agreement with, they don't need to charge insureds additional fees.
Q: How much is motorcycle insurance compared to auto insurance?
Just wondering because one of my friends says she only pays half of her auto insurance a month and she is paying $300 and that seems pretty steep.
A: That is steep, I pay about $50/month for Bike. But depends on the bike, and where you live. My bike is 650cc living in L.A.
Q: How can I get my auto insurance license?
I want to start selling auto insurance in Texas. Where can I get my insurance license?
A: I agree, your going to need to have someone sponsor you. Good Luck with it!!
Q: Can a homeowner's insurance cover an auto stolen because keys were taken from break in to home?
My friends home got broken into and car keys were stolen and with that stole the vehicle. The vehicle only had liability insurance. Now both homeowners and auto insurance are telling them that they won't pay for that loss. Is this correct in any way? The vehicle has a value of $7K. Would obtaining an attorney be helpful?
A: I don't think so

Q: How do I know if my auto insurance company is frauding my?
My auto insurance company has been charging me fees, rate increases (originally I was told it would be a decrease!), and a whole other mess with the DMV. I have not had any tickets, accidents, or claims. No one has been able to satisfactorily explain to me why this is happening. How do I now if I have a case with the insurance commission/and or a small claims lawsuit?
My main problem is not the rate increase. The insurance company received my payment on time. But, they did not POST it until a few days later. sometime in this period of a few days, the DMV audited the insurance companies system and decided this was a lapse I guess. I had to give the DMV 500.00 or lose my registration. This was 6 months ago. It took us 4 months to get the insurance agent to tell us what really happend (they are good at the runaround game). They said that they had sent the paperwork to the DMV and that we should be getting our check in 30 days as the insurance compay was at fault. This month my insurace is 100.00 more and I called the DMV and they recieved the paperwork, but not a follow up call they were supposed to get. Since I called them, I personally was able to give the OK to send the packet to the refund department. My insurance company says that the extra 100.00 is for "reinstatement of coverage", coverage I never lost in the first place.
A: you can visit the company's official website from where you can know about the insurance procedure / rates etc.
usually the vehicle is insured on the depriciated price and if the same company is continued every year, then they give the no claim bonuses.
There is a unique number called the "Cover Note" number from which you can trakc down your insurance details from the company.
Wish u luck Buddy!!!!
Q: What's the best place to purchase both auto and home insurance from?
I'm buying a new home and changing my auto insurance carrier, what insurance company can offer me the best deal when it comes to providing both home and auto insurance in a combo package?
A: I use State Farm and have for a long time. They aren't the cheapest, but have handled any claims without question and treated me very well. Good luck.
Q: How much auto insurance do I need if I own a home and some other assests?
My auto insurance company told me that if I'm in an accident and I don't have enough auto insurance I can be sued and possibly lose my home. I never heard of anyone losing their home because of an auto accident. If I have a good driving record, how much insurance do I really need and can I really lose my home if I don't have enough? and how do you collect from someone who doesn't have any insurance? It seems stupid to carry uninsured insurance if I can sue someone for damages.
A: Yes, you can sue someone. However, unlike you, they might not have any assets. You may not be able to collect from them if they do not have assets.
You should have the total of all your assets (including the house) or $100,000, whichever is less, in property damage liability coverage.
If the total of all your assets (including the house) is more than $300,000, then you should have $300,000 in bodily injury liability insurance AND have umbrella insurance with limits equal to the total of all your assets (including the house).
If the total of all your assets (including the house) is $300,000 or less, then you should have bodily injury liablity insurance coverage equal to the total of all your assets (including the house).
Q: What Auto Insurance Companies Service in Oklahoma?
I'm researching auto insurance for my area so I can get a basic idea of who to look at for auto insurance quotes. I need a list of insurance companies that provide service to Oklahoma. It'd be more appreciated if it was a list of auto insurance provided to the Oklahoma City Metro area.
Thanks in advanced people. God bless.
A: See this http://gsx1.com/InsuranceComparison.html take the quote, they'll come back with prices from different insurers in your area. It's very quick and free of charge.
But to find a cheap price you should get several quotes, do some legwork till something better will come along.
